Importance Of Interior Materials

Dear Diary, I am leaving you with my secrets and keys to a successful designer. As interior designers we are forced to know the properties of materials and finishes for everything, or therefore we will not succeed at all. Every material has a purpose and has definite qualities, textures, advantages , disadvantages as well as LIMITS. What I mean by limits, is that they have a specific span, specific time limit to be installed. Just like sweat pants and heels, they don't match, they will never match, even if Lady Gaga wore them one day, it would still be rejected.
"Interior design is a service, which involves much more than choosing a color palette or finding the perfect art piece"
Some materials do not co-operate with certain regions and weather, certain types of wood cannot be installed in bathrooms in Kuwait, due to hot weather. As Interior Designers we don't only deal with rooms, but we do deal with feelings, comfort, and detailed finishing. We should always offer comfortable interiors with suitable materials. Not understanding materials can cause damage to a whole interior. Us designers need to think about each material in a holistic way, through the impact on the environment from its use. The flooring is mainly the largest percentage of the interior which is the most unbroken surface in a room, and is the one that needs to be most hard wearing. WHY? Well, because think of it, you walk on it, run on it, place furniture on it, and also move furniture around as well use detergents for cleaning. Some materials are rare to find therefore we should choose wisely and with definite quantity.

Oh Diary, I think its time I leave. But please keep in mind that I am not a doctor, I don't cure wounds, I am not a singer, I cannot amuse you with my lyrics and voice, I am not a fashion designer, I cannot amaze you with my heels or skinny jeans, but I am an Interior Designer with knowledge, I offer not a house made of bricks with wooden floors, I offer a home.

The Eye Of Design

Why is my blog called the eye of design?

Because there is an " I " in design , which is everyone of us, and we all have different eyes for different views and perspectives.
